Our church services and the current situation with the COVID-19 virus

As a church community in the Parish of South Beddington & Roundshaw we face the delicate balance of keeping our corporate prayer life in place whilst following current Government and National Church guidelines, about staying at home and shielding the vulnerable.  For the time being, at least, all our public worship services are suspended at St. Paul's and St. Michael's churches

  • Prayer is at the heart of what we do.
    • You can send us a prayer request by emailing us at sbrparish@gmail.com
    • We are experimenting sharing Morning and Evening Prayer with live streaming from our Facebook page.   Click here to go to our Facebook page.
    • Morning Prayer is said at 9am each weekday: click here for more information and an Order of Service.
    • Evening Prayer is said at 5:30pm each weekday: click  here for more information and an Order of Service.
  • Holy Communion is an important part of our spiritual development. As of Monday 23rd March, both our church buildings will be closed.   The Mass will  continue to be offered daily for the parish at St Michael's Church but these services are not open to the public.  As ever, even when we physically gather together as a community, the Mass is offered by the priest on behalf of the people s/he serves and that will continue to be so during this time.
  • Open Church has been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
  • A prayer from the Dean of Southwark
    • We shall be praying for all affected by the Covid-19 virus and all working to keep us safe.  The Dean of Southwark Cathedral has written this prayer….

Loving God, source of healing and comfort, at this time of fear fill us with your grace that the sick may be made whole, this virus contained and a cure be found. Strengthen those who care for the sick, calm the anxious and protect the most vulnerable in the power of the Spirit and in the faith of Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
