Who's who

The Reverend Canon Angela Gbebikan has been leading the parish since December 2007, having served previously in the Parish of St, Stephen's, Norbury & Thornton Heath. Mother Angela has a particular interest in the liturgical life of the church, in the way in which liturgy is outwardly expressed in the lives of those who experience it. She is a member of the Society of Catholic Priests, and a member of Sabeel. Combined with her role as Vicar of the parish, Mother Angela is also the Croydon Episcopal Area Director of Ordinands and Bishop's Adviser for Women's Ministry, as well as being an Honorary Canon of Southwark Cathedral. She is married to Henry Curniffe.

Mother Maria Onuigbo joined the parish as a Deacon at Petertide 2014. She was priested in July 2015.  She is originally from Finland although has lived in the UK for over 10 years. Mother Maria was a deacon in the Finnish Lutheran Church. She is married to Nelly, who works for the BBC at the Central London. She is interested in Christian Growth, Spirituality, and Social Justice Questions.

Mother Martha Mutikani joined us as Assistant Curate on the 19th February 2017. She spent her early years in Zimbabwe and South Africa before settling in the UK and has been in the UK for over 17 years. She has worked for the NHS and private sectors, she continues to work as an Occupational Health Practitioner for a private company. Mother Martha holds qualifications in General nursing from Zimbabwe, intensive care nursing & mentorship from University of Surrey, BSc specialist practitioner in Occupational Health from Southbank University, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy skills for OH practitioners from Brunel University. 

She was worshipping at St Matthews Redhill where she trained as a Southwark Pastoral Auxiliary (SPA). She holds a BA degree in Theology from Christ Church Canterbury University. She had been a staff team member at St Matthews church since 2004 until she started ordained ministry training in 2012. She was ordained Deacon in 2015 and Priested in July 2016.

Mother Martha is married to Constantine with three children, Munya, Paida and Chido. She enjoys dancing, swimming and listening to music. She remains a member of the Zimbabwe ecumenical women's fellowship and the Zimbabwe Anglican Fellowship UK groups. Her faith has been greatly sustained by knowing that we should  "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you". Deuteronomy 31:6

Mother Martha was serving her initial Curacy at St Lukes Reigate until End of January 2017 and serves her current Curacy as a self-supporting minister.
