Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step devotion that help us to remember Jesus Christ's last day on earth (there is a 15th station in Easter Week).  The Stations enable us to focus in Lent upon our own journey with God.  The whole world is in currently in various stages of fear and facing death. People are experiencing isolation and abandonment like never before with the effects of the Coronavirus Pandemic.  It is good to reflect on the fact that Our Lord also experienced similar emotions and realities.

Come bring all of your being on this journey.

Our stations are located in the aisles either side of the altar in St Michael's Church.  The first station is next to the North Porch doors and we invite you to imagine yourself walking on the journey around the church during the Stations.

This is intended to be a virtual pilgrimage in the which you stop at each station and take time to recall and meditate upon effects of Christ's final day on earth.  Your virtual journey will last about 30 minutes. At each station you will hear a reflection, followed by a prayer (on screen), which we invite you to say this includes a short period of silence.

Journeying through the Stations of the Cross is a Lenten discipline which we aim to walk together.  We have been able to do this via YouTube.  Our journey will commence at 12 noon on Wednesdays in Lent (excluding Ash Wednesday).

24th February led by Mother Angela;

3rd March led by Father. Paul;

10th March led by David;

17th March led by Mother Angela;

24th March led by Father. Paul;

7th April (Easter Wednesday) led by David

Before you begin, it may help you to open the Prayer Sheet; you can join in at the begining and at the end of each Station.

We are offering you here a virtual pilgrimage in the which you stop at each station and you take time to recall and meditate upon effects of Christ's final day on earth.  Your virtual journey will last about 30 minutes. At each station you will hear a reflection, followed by a prayer (on screen), which we invite you to say this includes a short period of silence.
