Fundraising for St Michael & All Angels 2020 works
We are delighted that we have completed our 2020 external refurbishment works.
Much of the cost of £125,711 (excluding the VAT which we are allowed to recover) came from the church’s financial reserves but we also managed to raise a magnificent sum of £77,462.75 towards that overall figure. That money came from: Members of the local community: £1,002 St. Michael’s Players: £5,187.70 Parish Gift Day: £18,683.75 Allchurches Trust Limited: £3,900 Surrey Churches Preservation Trust: £2,000 Viridor Credits Ltd: £46,689.30
St Michael & All Angels is beautiful Grade II listed building. The refurbishment work to our roof, external brickwork, windows and elsewhere has ensured that we can keep this beautiful building and living community church open and accessible to all
We undertake a lot of community work from St Michael & All Angels and it does not exist for its own benefit. It is part of the work of God in South Beddington. We want to thank all those who contributed to ensure the building works were completed on time in October 2020. We thank those who cleaned the toilets to ensure we remained COVID-safe; those who gave their time to manage the project and the various craftspeople who repaired our beautiful church. But chiefly we thank those who made sacrifices financially to make this happen. Those contributions, however large or small, have ensured the continuation of our work in this place. St Michael & All Angels has been a place of prayer for over a hundred years and we are confident that we can continue to be here for the next hundred years. |
