Welcome from the Vicar

Welcome from the Vicar

A very warm welcome to the website of the Parish of South Beddington and Roundshaw.

I am very pleased to say that after months of our church buildings being closed following National Government and Church of England guidelines, St Michael & All Angels South Beddington will re-open for worship on Sunday 12th July. There will be restrictions in place which mean that we are limited to 30 households in the congregation.

To enable safe distances to be kept, it is necessary that anyone who wishes to attend a service pre-books ie., if you wish to attend a Sunday service, you will need to telephone me  020 8647 1201 (or email gbebikan@cantab.net) at least 24 hours before the service you wish to attend takes place.

Our services will continue to be live streamed each Sunday at 11 am if you are unable to be physically with us, in which case you may find it helpful to use the Spiritual Communion resource available on the website.  St Paul's Church Roundshaw remains closed for the time being and we are working towards re-opening in the Autumn.

As a parish, we see faith as a journey we take together, as we aim to grow closer to God and to one another, and to support each other in times of difficulty. In these present times it is vitally important that we continue to be a praying and prayerful community for those amongst whom we live and work.

As Christians, we are to be in the forefront of providing practical care and support for the most poor and the most vulnerable during these times; our Foodbank remains open each Tueday afternoon from 12 noon until 2 pm. The Foodbank is still in need of supplies, so please drop any items for the Foodbank to St Michael's during open church days.  Open Church at St Michael's Church is  on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week from 9.30 am until 11.30 am.

As we go forward into this new way of being church in South Beddington & Roundshaw, let us commit to praying daily for each other.

With our prayers and best wishes.

Mother Angela Gbebikan
