Welcome from the Vicar

A very warm welcome to the website of the Parish of South Beddington and Roundshaw.

I am very pleased to say that after months of our church buildings being closed following National Government and Church of England guidelines, St Michael & All Angels South Beddington is open for worship on Sundays. We are Covid Safe and there will be restrictions in place which mean that we are limited to 30 households in the congregation. Tier 4 Lockdown guidance can be found here

St. Paul’s Roundshaw is open for parish mid-week mass on Wednesday at 10:30. We are Covid Safe and there will be restrictions in place which means that we are limited to 9 households in the congregation.

Where possible, all visitors are asked to sign in and check in using the NHS Track and Trace app.  To ensure social distancing is adhered to, it is necessary that anyone who wishes to attend a service pre-books: i.e., if you wish to attend a midweek service, you will need to telephone/text our Parish Administrator 07765 182 042  (or email sbrparish@gmail.com) to let her know.

If you do wish to attend the midweek services, please let us know in good time but most certainly before Tuesday each week. If that service is full, then your name will go on the list for the next available Wednesday service. Please note that there will be no possibility of physically attending the service unless you have “pre-booked”; we need to ensure that safe distancing is possible within the building.

Our services will continue to be live streamed each Sunday at 11 am.  If you are unable to be physically with us you may find it helpful to use the Spiritual Communion resource available on the website.

As a parish, we see faith as a journey we take together, as we aim to grow closer to God and to one another, and to support each other in times of difficulty. In these present times it is vitally important that we continue to be a praying and prayerful community for those amongst whom we live and work.

As Christians, we are to be in the forefront of providing practical care and support for the most poor and the most vulnerable during these times; our Foodbank remains open each Thursday afternoon from 12 noon until 2 pm. The Foodbank is still in need of supplies, so please drop any items for the Foodbank to St Michael's during open church days.  Open Church at St Michael's Church is on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday each week from 9.30 am until 11.30 am.

As we go forward into this new way of being church in South Beddington & Roundshaw, let us commit to praying daily for each other.

With our prayers and best wishes.
